MyBookBuyer is the product of the hard work of a whole team of people. We’re not sure if it’s a great place to work because we all love what we do, or the other way around. Here is a quick look at just a few members of the cast of characters that make up the MyBookBuyer team:
Back in 1999 Michael was just a guy with a love of books and a dream. He went from being a guy with a business degree working as a software engineer/instructor (and being a guy with way too many books) to becoming an entrepreneur, building the business that would become Beagle Books
When the fledgling company needed a name Michael turned to his other passion: his endless string of pets. He’s had dachshunds, fish, chickens, even a cat named Spaz with thyroid condition but ironically, never a Beagle. It sounded better than the alternatives though, so it stuck. (Miniature Dachshund Books? Come on.)
Amy loves new tasks and challenges. She can't wait to jump into the exciting new world of Beagle Books. Having just recently graduated, she is thrilled to take on a new direction and perspective in life. Applying her theoretical scholastic learning to the real world is an experience she treasures. She is thrilled to have a job related to one of her passions: books and reading. Curling up in a big comfy chair reading is one of her favorite things to do.
Her passions also include bowling, tennis and cooking. She may not be an expert (or perhaps even good), but that doesn't slow her down. You will also find her walking and playing with her dog, Sam.
Andy thinks “The Starry Night” by Van Gogh is the greatest painting of all time. Walk into his room and you'll understand his strong passion for art. He has his own drawings and paintings framed and hung around his room walls like an art gallery. He has loved art since the moment he could pick up a pencil. Don’t be surprised if you see him just drawing for fun, whether he’s using his favorite media, pastel chalk, or doodling something on Photoshop. Having art as a hobby is beneficial when it is time for him to brainstorm and mock up designs for websites.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Andy is a die-hard 49ers and Warriors fan. Andy also likes muscle cars and drives his Mustang whenever possible. So if he isn’t in class studying for his B.A., you would most likely run into him on the tarmac.
“Going green” is not just a figure of speech to Erica. Her goal is to actually better the environment, one step at a time. As a little girl, she envisioned herself saving the world. After discovering that “Superhero” wasn’t an actual profession, she became passionate about finding other ways to preserve our home, the Earth.
Erica always knew she wanted to hold an important position in a company, and at the age of seventeen, she discovered that she had a talent for business and a natural ability to sell just about anything to anyone. The combination of her interests has kept her a step ahead of the game in pursuing a degree in business management with a minor in energy resources. Most of all, what really keeps Erica going is her yen for competition. She strives for success when new challenges arise and enjoys learning new things.
Cynthia is your everyday couch potato. Her favorite hobbies include watching TV, snacking and taking naps. She really does hope that eventually the gym will be one of her top hobbies, but untill then ... well, who knows.
Over the past year, Cynthia has developed a passion for understanding new cultures. Previously she hadn't thought that she would want to live anywhere but California. However, in the past year she's traveled coast to coast and added ten new stamps to her passport and plans on adding more very soon!
Paul is our writing whiz. If you find a grammatical error or misspelled word on the site (and you just might) it’s probably his fault. But we figure it’s important to have those word things on the website for people to read, so we keep him around.
Paul is a lean, mean writing machine, 100% powered by high octane caffeine. No one knows what he’d do without his daily coffee-chugging habit. He might just power down and start to rust. Fortunately, he’s probably not going to give up the java any time soon, so we’ll probably never have to find out
