You either love her or hate her. You may have seen her cuteness on the Mickey Mouse Club. At the young and naïve age of 16, she became not only a pop star, but also a sex symbol. She was one of the lucky girls to date Justin Timberlake. And, her life slowly went downhill after meeting a guy who changed her life for the worse. She is the famous Britney Spears!!!

The interesting thing that I have noticed is about 95% of the guys I know hate her, and about half of the girls either love her or hate her. I asked a few people what they think about Britney and here are some of the quotes (the first two are from guys and the last two are from girls). Some are really harsh!

“Britney’s an overrated slut. It’s easy to become famous when you have a pretty face. All you need to be willing to do is lip-sync someone else’s words, ‘sing’ about nothing but sex, and show your genitalia while ‘innocently’ getting out of a car.” –Kristoffer

“Britney is a very wonderful human being and deserves to be treated like a queen. She’s also extremely gorgeous and I’m not worthy to wipe her butt. She also has the potential to further screw her life over.” -Jasper

“Britney Spears is a great performer and singer. I think her old music is a lot better than now. My favorite song is Womanizer because it reminds me of her old, edgy beats. I hope she continues her success!” -Jensine

“I used to like listening to her music, but now I think she’s a bimbo. She’s like those teenage mothers in high school you want to stay away from. I pity her babies.” -Lily

For my part, I love that girl. I have grown up listening to her bubble-gum pop music. I do not know why a lot of people criticize that genre. It’s just for fun. I know that her lyrics may not be so serious, deep and intellectual, and I know she does not write her own music (just like many other pop stars) and I really do not care. Her music is just incredibly fun to listen to. Her songs are also the few that my friends and I can make silly fun music videos to. And, even though now most of her songs have sex-filled lyrics, the songs still have a good beat that is still fun to sing to during a long and boring car ride or, dance to while getting ready in the morning.

After meeting that brainless backup dancer Kevin Federline (I have no idea what she was thinking!) she got pregnant and started becoming unattractive. And yes, for a couple years she partied way too much and did some awfully nasty things, but that happens to a lot of other great people in Hollywood. That stuff even happens to every-day people, and nobody gives them as hard of a time as the millions of people who hate Britney Spears. She has accomplished so much and put out many top songs (Hit Me Baby One More Time, I’m a Slave 4 U, Toxic, Gimme More, Womanizer, Circus, and many more) and I love all of them! This year is also a huge year for her. Britney is starting to get her life back together and her most recent tour was a success. And not to mention, her looks have improved drastically from her regretful and unhealthy years. She even made #17 on Maxim’s hot 100 of 2009!! She has definitely made a comeback that many other “good, gone bad” stars failed to achieve. You may love her not, but I definitely love her. And because of her success, I agree with the sad cries and true words of Chris Crocker…leave Britney alone!
