When I try to sell my books it says "No Offer" or "Invalid ISBN". Why won't you buy my books?
We buy books of many different types, but we cannot buy every book. If you see "No offer" or "Invalid ISBN" we are not able to buy that book at this time. What we buy varies day to day, for a number reasons, including what we already have in our inventory as well as demand for certain books or book types. There are also some types of books we do not buy at all. Return to top.

How does My Book Cart work?
My Book Cart works just like the shopping cart you may have used on other sites. When you enter a book to sell, and if we are currently buying it, it will automatically be added to your seller cart. Your books are automatically totaled up for you, and you may also adjust quantities via your seller cart. Return to top.

Do I need to send my entire order in one box?
You don't have to, if you are using our free UPS shipping label. When your order reaches certain weight thresholds, you will have the option to print more than one UPS label. However if you are sending your package via US Post Office we recommend you create a separate order for each box. Because packages sent through the post office may not arrive same day, using separate orders will ease the processing of your books and sending your payment as quickly as possible. Return to top.

Can I remove books from My Book Cart?
Yes! You can remove books by changing the quantity to 0, or if you want to remove all your books, you can empty the whole cart. Return to top.

Can I cancel my order?

We seek pre-1930's children's books and pre-1900's antiquarian and collectible books and complete book sets. Return to top.

Will you buy books in any condition?
We will only buy books that meet a certain minimum condition. If the book you are selling is in "Good" or better condition, we will generally purchase it. Additionally, we will automatically reject any books that have:

Do you buy ex-library books?
We do not buy ex-library books. There are no exceptions. Return to top.

Do you buy books in bulk?
Absolutely! Like your neighborhood bookstore book buyer of times past, we buy books in bulk based on the type of book and subject matter. Where do I find a book's ISBN number?
The ISBN is usually found on the back cover of the book. Look for the ISBN directly above the bar code. Books published before the 1970's may not have an ISBN. Return to top.

C. Shipping

How do I ship my books to My Book Buyer?

1. Print two copies of the packing slip. Send one copy with your shipment and keep one copy for your records.

2. Pack the books tightly in a sturdy box. Most corrugated brown shipping boxes work. Stamped on most boxes is a box certification - any box with bursting test at 200 lbs per square inch will work. We encourage the use of previously used boxes as long as its condition is clean and has not been overly crushed. Please do not use shoe boxes or other thin cardboard cartons. Make sure the box does not weigh more than 70 pounds. Click here for the packing tutorial.

3. Tape our pre-paid shipping label on the box and take the shipment to any post office. We recommend you pay for insurance if the total value of your shipment exceeds $25. Return to top.

Can I use a different shipping carrier?
You may choose to use a different shipping carrier and take responsibility for the associated shipping costs. In this case, please use the following shipping address:
Beagle Books

Once you place the order, the books must be sent in within 7 days. After that, the price of the original offer is no longer valid. Return to top.

Where do I get the box?
There are a couple different ways you can go. You can always buy a new box from a store. The other option is to find a used box which you may be able to get for free! Remember that used boxes still need to be clean and sturdy. Check nearby shopping centers, malls, supermarkets or any other local businesses to see if they have any boxes you can have. You can also check online on sites like freecycle.org or the free section of craiglist.org. Return to top.

D. Pricing and Payment

When will I get paid for my books?
After we receive your books, we will issue payment via Paypal within 3 business days or mail a check within 7 business days to the name and address you have registered with us. Delays can occur if books don't meet our criteria. Return to top.

I sent my books in a while ago. Why haven't I recieved payment yet?
We work to try and ensure that every payment is processed in a timely manner. If your payment seems delayed, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:
  1. If there are problems with your order, such as damage to the books, books that do not meet our minimum condition requirements or books that are missing your payment may be delayed so that we can adjust your order payment amount. In these cases, the order is reviewed by a supervisor to determine the amount of the adjustment and if an adjustment is necessary at all. This process is in place to ensure you get a fair price for the books you send.
  2. The second reason that your order may seem to be taking a long time is delays in postal delivery. If you select to be paid by check, your payment will be issued on the day it is processed. You will recieve an automatic email lettin you know that your payment has been sent. Please allow up to 2-3 weeks for postal delivery.

Can I sell my books for store credit?
Unfortunately, at this time we are not set up to provide store credit. Return to top.

Do I have to pay any fees to sell my books?
No. Our service is absolutely free and there are never any hidden fees. We offer free price quotes and even pay the shipping costs. Return to top.

How do you determine prices for books?
We continuously monitor the demand for used books in order to bring you the best and fairest prices around. The prices we quote are based on the books being in "Good" or better condition. We reserve the right to judge the condition of any books we receive. Return to top.

I got a better offer on another site. Do you offer price matching?
Yes. We strive to always offer you the best prices for used books, but if you find a better price anywhere we will work to match it. Just email us at customerservice@mybookbuyer.com with the ISBN, the price you were quoted, and the name of the site and we will let you know if we can match it. Return to top.

How do I get the money for selling my books?
Once we receive your books, we will issue you payment via Paypal within 3 business days or mail a check within 7 business days. Return to top.

How does PayPal work?
